ACORUS calamus Giant rush

An attractive plant with Iris-like foliage that has a citrus smell when crushed. Height can reach to 1.5mts. Grow in full sun to maintain good foliage colour. Moist soil to shallow water.

An attractive plant with green & white variegated foliage. Height can reach to 1.5mtrs.   Grow in full sun to maintain good foliage colour. Moist soil to shallow water.

A small growing variegated green& cream Acorus. Grow in full sun or shade, prefers  moist soil  

AETHIONEMA cordifolium Lebanese Cress

Greyish-green fern-like leaves are edible & can be added to salads. Small rose-pink flowers. Moist soil to shallow water.

BACOPA monniera (Brahmi) Memory Herb

The native bacopa is a smaller plant than the exotic species. It has small white flowers in Summer and Autumn, and will withstand light frosts. Depth3 - 4cm above the rim of the pot.

 

CANNA glauca Endeavour (Red)

Blue/green lance shaped foliage. Narrow leaves and red flowers are recurved, plumera-type, and appear throughout summer.

Dark green leaves are overlaid with velvety black colouring between the veins. Moist soil to shallow water.  Height to 1.2 metres.

Lighter green leaves with brilliant red stems. Moist soil to shallow water. Height to 1.5 meters. Full sun to part shade.

CRINUM pendiculatim Beach Lily or Swamp Crinum 

Large clumps of evergreen foliage.  Leaves are very thick and leathery.  Produces flowers through spring and summer.  Can reach up to 1 meter.  Best on fringe areas with moist soil.

Smaller version of the Cyperus alternifolia grows to 30-40cm.

HOUTTUYNIA cordata Chameleon

Clumping, hardy perennial.  Erect, leafy red stems with bluish-green, leathery pointed leaves. 

IPOMOEA aquatica Kang Kung Asian Spinach  

Grows in water of moist soil. The flowers are trumpet shaped, 3-5cm diameter white in colour. Best kept contained. NOT FOR DAMS

IRIS Louisiana

Named varieties available as well as assorted. Can be grown in shallow water or wet soil.

Very hardy clumping, yellow flag Iris to 1.2mtrs tall. Shallow water or bog conditions.

Typical iris leaf but much broader structure. Flowers are very compact with 5cm blooms. Sky blue with dark purple veining on the tips of the petals.

LYSIMACHIA aurea Golden Creeping Jenny

Evergreen creeping ground cover with rounded leaves. Plant in damp places. Prefers Shade in the warmer months.

LINDERNIA Grandiflora Blue Money Wort

Low growing ground cover with many lavender and white flowers over a long season.

LIMNOPHILA aromatica Rice Paddy Herb

Semi aquatic herb that grows in moist to shallow water. finely divided bright green immersed leaves. Leaves can be used to garnish and flavour soups and curries.

A Mint with a touch of basil fragrance.

A highly aromatic small leafed variety of mint. commonly used as a cooking herb.

A dwarf growing form of Zantedeschia aetheopica reaching a height of 40cm. Can be grown in water to the top of the pot or as a bog plant.

This hardy lily revels in waer and mud and flowers most of the year. The large glossy green leaves and the pure white flowers are both prized by floral artist.
